My Country, My Home.
The story behind the design.
When I was first informed to create a embroidery hoop design showcasing my knots craft for Maker Faire Singapore, the general design concept almost immediately came to mind. However, it took me nearly a month before I finalise the design for the moon and stars, and two months before I found the perfect fabric backing.
Can you recognise the various elements in my design ?
- The crescent moon and 5 stars
- The red heart
- The flowers and butterfly
- The twin dragons
- The 福 which means good fortune
Taken together, this is the little country that I call home. I am a Singaporean, born and bred.
May our flag always fly high above our beloved garden city, where mythical guardians safeguard our hard-earned prosperity.

设计背后的故事。
当我被告知须利用绣花圈展示我的结艺时，脑海里当下呈现出设计草图。但我用了快一个月的时间才制出令我满意的星月结，而背景布料却花了我两个月的时间才找到。
